A rock ’n roll genie, a sneezy monkey, and Mary Poppins all join in to help Aladdin and Jasmine find their place in the world. They may have stars in their eyes, but Drakkar Noir, He Who Should Not Be Smelt, is willing to do just about anything to destroy their dreams and gain power over the kingdom.

Get ready to boo the baddies, cheer for our heroes and wave your wand to the beat! Come and join us on a magic carpet ride like never before!

Burl Oak Theatre Group is excited to present Aladdin as their sixth annual holiday pantomime. After last year’s hilarious Wizard of Oz panto, the team can’t wait to the hit the stage at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts again with more wild adventures, whacky characters, and wise-cracking humour.

Pantomime (informally known as a panto), is a type of musical comedy stage production made to be enjoyed by the whole family. An English tradition, it is generally performed during the Christmas and New Year season. Modern pantomime includes song, dance, and slapstick comedy. It employs gender crossing actors, audience interaction, and combines topical humour with a story loosely based on a well-known fairy tale.

Whether it’s your first time or your sixth, we invite you to come and be a part of Oakville’s holiday tradition. The magic can’t happen without you, so come and help Aladdin outwit the nasty Drakkar Noir, and maybe, just maybe you’ll meet a genie along the way! Our wish is to see you at the theatre, what would you wish for?
